Council denies 24-hour construction-hours variance for GFL landfill expansion

Staff recommended denial because of concerns raised by surrounding residential properties.
Council discussion touched on whether a narrower extension of hours (rather than full 24-hour operations) could be acceptable; a commissioner asked whether staff could consider modified hours. The council voted to accept staff’s recommendation and deny the request by roll call.
