Antioch proclaims Feb. 11 as 2-1-1 Day; United Way leaders describe service

The Village Board issued a proclamation recognizing Feb. 11, 2026 as 2-1-1 Day in Antioch and invited United Way of Lake County representatives to explain the service.
Maria Nava, who identified herself as the 2-1-1 Lake County manager for United Way of Lake County, thanked the board for the proclamation and described 2-1-1 as "a free, confidential, easy to remember, one-stop helpline" that connects people to health and human services by phone, text and online. She said the service, launched in Lake County on Sept. 24, 2019, has made more than 448,000 connections across the county and that 2-1-1 answered hundreds of calls and referrals from Antioch residents in the past year.
Kevin Hunter, introduced by the mayor as a United Way board member and a Lake County board member, thanked the village for its support and encouraged continued awareness of the service. Maria Nava said, "Help is just 1 call, text, or click away."
