At its regular meeting, the Village of Hampshire board approved several financial and procurement items.
Staff requested renewal of the village’s medical, dental and vision plans for fiscal year 2025–26, noting Blue Cross Blue Shield provides the village’s two medical plan options (HMO and PPO), MetLife provides dental and VSP provides vision coverage. Staff said plan-cost increases were under double digits; the board approved the renewals by roll call. "Our union contract with the FOP goes through 04/30/2027 and requires us to keep substantially the same coverage," staff noted.
The board authorized the village manager to sign and submit a certificate of authority for rock salt purchases totaling $147,147 (unit price cited as $93.50 per ton under the state contract) after a staff explanation of stock and ordering increments.
Trustees approved progress Payment #2 to Lane Christensen Company for work at Well No. 12 in the amount of $12,618. Consultant Tim Paulson, participating online, said the pump and motor appear reusable with maintenance and that the final report and cost estimate will be completed by month-end.
The board adopted an ordinance approving an intergovernmental agreement with Community Unit School District 300 to use the village training center for SRO training for a fee; staff said the district has signed the contract and that the arrangement will generate revenue. The board also waived competitive bidding and accepted Fort and Main’s bid for backflow devices and couplings for $27,450.
Finally, the board approved accounts payable totaling $277,424.92. Several trustees noted follow-up items in commission reports and staff updates; the meeting closed with routine announcements.
