The Village of Sleepy Hollow board approved offers of employment for two patrol officers and administered oaths of office during the meeting, and also moved forward with appointments to the village finance committee.
Trustees voted to offer employment to Bart Kozlowski and Jeremy Peace as patrol officers for the Village of Sleepy Hollow. The motion to offer appointments, which included a stated starting salary for the positions, was moved and seconded and passed on a roll-call vote. Following the vote, the clerk administered the oath of office to both officers; both repeated the oath pledging to support the constitutions and to faithfully discharge the duties of a patrol officer for the Village of Sleepy Hollow. Board members welcomed the officers and congratulated them.
Separately, the board moved agenda items to swear in finance committee appointees. Barry Sanders and Bill Zozokos were appointed to the finance committee and will serve on that advisory body; the board also administered oaths to Barry Sanders and other finance committee members present and arranged to finalize related paperwork and photographs. Trustees noted the committee now has four members and said meetings will be scheduled soon to begin work on finance-related items.
Board members praised staff for their recruitment and said hiring two officers strengthens public-safety capacity. The hiring motion and the finance committee appointments were taken as part of the board’s reordered agenda and were approved by the body during the meeting.
