Hampshire president proclaims April 2 World Autism Awareness Day

After the proclamation, Mark Natalia, a senior at Huntley High School and an advocate with Rocking the Spectrum, thanked the board. “I just really wanna thank you guys for allowing me to have this proclamation,” Natalia said, adding that many people with autism lack a public voice and that recognition matters for dignity and access to services.
President Reed invited continued contact from advocates and staff, saying he appreciated the advocacy and asking Natalia to share follow-up information by email so the village could explore additional support.
The proclamation will be part of the village record; no formal action beyond the ceremonial proclamation was taken.
