Mayor Andy Johnson demonstrated Warrenville’s new citizen engagement app in a short video, saying the app will centralize common services for residents and local businesses.
“If you haven't been to the app yet, it's fairly intuitive, pretty simple,” Johnson said, showing viewers how to open the app from his phone’s home screen. He instructed users to set up an account with name and address to access personalized features.
Johnson emphasized payment and service features. Residents can check and pay utility bills through the app, while businesses can apply for licenses and pay permit fees. He also demonstrated the app’s service-request function, saying residents can submit code-enforcement reports — for example, to report overgrown brush in a neighbor’s yard.
The app also consolidates information such as the city’s garbage-collection schedule, which Johnson said is helpful for households during holiday weeks. Beyond convenience for users, he said the platform will send usage data to the city to help officials identify and prioritize recurring service needs.
Johnson described the video as the first in what he expects will be a series of short videos about the city’s engagement app, intended to guide residents through features and encourage use.
The demonstration was presented by the Office of the Mayor, Warrenville; Johnson did not announce a rollout date or funding details in the clip.
