Summary
Trustees set a public hearing for the proposed FY2026–27 budget for March 23 (approval scheduled April 13), highlighted the village's 50/50 overhead sewer and sidewalk programs, approved the consent agenda and unanimously authorized staff to accept the lowest-cost commercial electricity bid via NIMEC for village accounts.
The La Grange Board of Trustees announced a public hearing on the proposed fiscal year 2026–27 budget for Monday, March 23, with consideration of final approval scheduled for April 13. Village Manager Knight thanked staff for the weekend budget workshop and said staff will finalize documents in advance of the public hearing.
Trustees and staff reiterated two resident programs discussed during budget deliberations: a 50/50 overhead sewer program in which the village will contribute up to 50% of a homeowner’s cost for installing an overhead sewer, and a 50/50 sidewalk repair program that shares contractor coordination and cost with homeowners. Residents were encouraged to register for spring cleanup and to affix special stickers the morning of pickup.
On routine business the board approved the consent agenda (including participation in a joint salt-purchase master contract, minutes and a consolidated voucher) by unanimous roll call. Trustees also unanimously approved a resolution delegating authority to accept the lowest-cost commercial electricity bid through the Northern Illinois Municipal Electric Collaborative (NIMEC) to enable timely contract execution for street lights and water facilities; staff noted NIMEC has brokered savings and that bid prices are valid only on the day of the bid opening.
Manager Knight also reminded residents that vehicle sticker and pet tag renewals are available online through April 30, 2026.
Next steps: the budget public hearing on March 23 will present the proposed FY2026–27 budget for public comment before a vote on April 13.
