The Georgetown City Council on Oct. 6, 2025 accepted the city’s FY 2024-25 audit, authorized a records storage building that includes a 10-by-10 police evidence room, approved updates to the police firearms policy and voted to return an officer to full-time status on a one-year probationary term. The council also adopted Ordinance 2025-174 to add four stop signs and tabled consideration of a community solar contract for review by the city attorney.
Ann Scales of audit firm Lauterbach & Amen told the council the audit was favorable, citing increases in account balances, timely scheduled payments and no new debt; she said internal controls were in good order. Following that presentation the council voted to accept the FY 2024-25 audit report.
