Personnel Committee recommends offering Georgetown water and sewer superintendent job to Tanner Steele

Chairperson Michelle Brooks, Alder Ward 2, moved to enter executive session under Illinois statute 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(5) to discuss personnel; Alder Mike Scott (Ward 3) seconded the motion, which passed unanimously, 3–0. The committee recorded entering executive session at 6:16 p.m. and reconvening at 7:03 p.m.
After returning to open session, Alder Nick Krabel (Ward 4) moved and Alder Michelle Brooks seconded a motion to reconvene and approve a recommendation to the full council that an offer be made to Tanner Steele for the water and sewer superintendent position. The committee approved the recommendation by voice vote, recorded as unanimous, 3–0.
The action taken by the Personnel Committee is a recommendation; any employment offer or appointment will be finalized only if the full Georgetown City Council votes to approve it. The committee recorded adjournment at 7:04 p.m. on the same night.
Jacqueline Wilson, the city clerk, and Mayor Darin Readnour were noted as also present in the meeting minutes. The committee’s use of 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(5) indicates the personnel discussion took place in closed session as allowed by state law.
