Minutes state that the business district previously approved a $15,000 grant after the American Legion requested help with a furnace last year; the Legion ultimately did not need furnace repairs but still has other needs. Mayor Darin Readnour said he would like the city to move forward with giving the American Legion that grant.
Committee members also noted that business-district funds have been discussed in relation to a storage building project. The committee recorded its recommendation to the full council to grant $15,000 to the American Legion and did not take a final appropriation vote at the committee level; the full council will consider the recommendation.
