Summary

Operations division staff member Ortman presented a plan to purchase hydroseeding equipment for use at city parks, the cemetery, and at water/sewer repair sites. Ortman said the equipment would be used primarily from March through November and would make post‑stump restoration, wastewater‑plant tasks and tree watering less labor‑intensive.
Ortman explained that, after stump grinding, restoration is required and that the hydroseeder’s pump and hose would allow staff who plant trees to water them more quickly and with less strain. Alderman Dorsett thanked the public works department and noted the public works committee recommended approval; the council scheduled final action for next week.
No purchase contract was approved at this meeting.
