The city council authorized entering into an agreement with IMEG to perform a lead service line inventory for the city. The item had been discussed at the Committee of the Whole and a memorandum from the public works director was included in the council packet.
Public works director Alice Ortman (S10) presented the item; a council member (S5) told the council a resident had contacted them after receiving postcards about the inventory and reassured constituents that "it's not a scam." Council moved and seconded to accept the proposal and execute the agreement; the motion passed on roll call with all ayes.
Staff said the city mailed letters to residents to introduce the program. The inventory work will proceed under the terms of the IMEG proposal; the contract packet provides more detail on scope and timing.
