Council authorizes amended lease adding adjacent office space for township
Summary

The council authorized an amendment to an existing lease allowing the township to use additional office space adjacent to its current City Hall offices. City attorney (S8) explained the Illinois township code limits township leases to terms of no more than 10 years and described the amendment authorizing the township supervisor to execute the attached lease exhibit.
A motion to adopt the amendment (Ordinance No. 182) was moved and seconded and the council approved the ordinance on roll call with all ayes. Mayor/Chair (S1) noted the change accommodates the township's need for additional confidential meeting and office space and includes a provision to allow the city to reoccupy the area if needed.
The measure was adopted following the legal reading and will next be placed for administrative execution per the ordinance's directions.
