The Oglesby City Council approved routine consent items including minutes, bills and payroll during its regular meeting.
After discussion about formatting and accuracy, the council approved a more generalized updated set of minutes for Aug. 18 and Sept. 2 and recorded a plan to correct an identified ordinance-number typo in the July 7 minutes at the next meeting. Commissioner Aldridge moved to adopt the updated minutes and Commissioner Cullen seconded the motion.
The council then approved bills presented for payment totaling $179,047.53 and approved payroll for Sept. 15, 2025 in the amount of $76,798.22. Motions for both the bills and payroll were made and carried on roll-call votes.
Councilors said they wanted future minutes to be accurate yet concise and agreed on a approach to standardize minutes going forward.
