The Macomb City Council’s Committee of the Whole reviewed an ordinance to create a Class V liquor license for Wear Brands Incorporated, which plans to operate as Lucky's Landing at 504 West Jackson Street in Macomb.
Council members noted the petitioner was present and asked staff and the city attorney to confirm the city’s remaining license capacity. "Where do we stand on the current number of Class B licenses?" asked Alderman Dorset; City Attorney Lisa Scauf said her best recollection was nine of ten and offered to provide a definite count.
The chair said the ordinance had already had a public hearing at last week's council meeting and a first reading. Harry Noble placed the item on the council agenda for second reading and final action on Dec. 1.
Because the council did not take final action at the Committee of the Whole meeting, any license issuance will depend on the outcome of the December council vote and any conditions attached at that time.
