Marion water department reports 559,849,776 gallons consumed in 2025, lists repairs and projects

The official said the department completed 48 new service taps, addressed 55 water-main breaks, issued 31 boil orders, repaired 59 water-service leaks, updated 40 services, and replaced/repaired or added 15 fire hydrants. Staff reported five construction and operating permits for new or replacement mains and about 4,340 feet of new pipe installed. The department repaired 55 meter pits, completed 3,697 locate requests, responded to 6,209 service calls for the year, and relocated five major water mains.
Annual consumption for 2025 was stated as 559,849,776 gallons. Council members congratulated the department and noted crews’ timely work during recent snow events.
