Staff and commissioners discussed that last year's plan had been only partially completed, that personnel trained for plan development were lost, and that equipment breakdowns affected progress. The chair reported that a tank at the county batch plant is not repairable, which could force the county to either purchase asphalt in the interim or rely on chip sealing while the plant is repaired or replaced.
The commission agreed to hold a work session to support the new public works director and to pull last year's plan for review. A work session on the road plan was scheduled for 04:30 next Monday to develop priorities for the upcoming budget season and to advise director Kenny what information to bring to the meeting.
