Staff said tents and other vendor set‑ups for businesses outside the fenced area would remain subject to existing requirements. “It’s also going to be fenced in,” a staff speaker said, adding that event attendees would use a designated cup and enter and exit via monitored points.
Trustees asked staff to conduct resident outreach — particularly for households near the square — and to check health‑department inspection and fee arrangements. Several board members said they supported a pilot with a plan to reassess after the first set of events; the events committee will help track outcomes and report back to the full board.
No motion to adopt a permanent policy was taken; staff will return with details and next steps for implementing the pilot.
