Columbus County DSS outlines Path NC rollout, LIEAP status and child support collections

Dillo Hall of the Columbus County Department of Social Services presented the department’s monthly administrative report for February on March 16, updating the board on community outreach, benefits programs and the county’s Path NC transition.
Hall said the crisis intervention program (SIP) and Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) funds are fully allocated for the current cycle; she noted that when the cooling season funding cycle opens July 1 the department will begin the next allocation. For citizens needing immediate assistance she directed them to the Salvation Army of Wilmington on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Hall described Path NC, the statewide comprehensive case‑management system that is replacing several paper and legacy processes. She said child protective services (CPS) went live last year and the state is expanding Path NC to include in‑home services, pharmacy planning, foster care, eligibility, financial services, licensing and adoption. Staff training for the new modules is scheduled for April and May, and Hall said the county is expected to go live with the expanded system on 06/08/2026. “As we move forward with the full implementation of Path NC... staff will be trained in April and May of this year, and we are expected to go live in those departments on 06/08/2026,” Hall said.
Hall also reported February collections: $379,085 in child support and $2,164.84 in program integrity collections.
The board voted to approve the DSS monthly report.
