Downtown Macomb at 90% occupancy; community event calendar shows strong use

Savannah Ballard, downtown marketing and development director, told the committee the city's event calendar has seen rising activity since it launched in May. She said quarter‑three metrics included 957 new events and 16,000 visits to the platform; since May Ballard reported 1,942 events and 61,000 visits, with 365 registered users and 85 stakeholders uploading events.
Ballard also reported downtown occupancy at 90% with seven properties currently for sale or rent. She summarized the downtown facade TIF program, saying five projects were accepted this quarter representing just over $75,000 in reinvestment; over the past five years the program has supported about $688,000 in reinvestment downtown.
Council members praised the platform and downtown occupancy and encouraged businesses and organizations to use the calendar. Ballard said the city will continue marketing efforts and expects additional program deliverables in coming quarters.
