He said the end of the city's contract with Lifeguard will reduce the number of medical calls the city runs going forward and that Station 2 remains leased.
On prevention work, Meyer reported 38 car‑seat checks and installations and 165 smoke alarms installed across 34 residences during the period. He noted two probationary firefighters were released from probation and are scheduled for further training, and emphasized the department's push to improve inspection outreach and business education.
