The motion’s intent is to help the new superintendent get to know staff, see programs such as food service and summer school in operation, and receive a handoff on administrative priorities before July 1.
The board asked staff to ensure the new superintendent has time to rest between transition work and the first days of the new contract period, and to report back if fewer days would be sufficient.
