Additional payments are available when the grid operator calls for reduced load and the municipal system decreases consumption or uses on‑site generation.
Staff emphasized the village would not be penalized for participation. ‘‘There re no penalties for the village. We don o not have to take go off the grid at any point in time,’’ a staff presenter said, adding that the plant manager (Tucker) would make on‑the‑ground operational decisions about whether to respond to a call.
Public works and plant staff described practical actions—such as temporarily shutting blowers or using standby generators—rather than mandatory disconnections. The board voted on Resolution No. 1-2723 by roll call and approved the agreement.
