Resident presses board on athletic director rumors; board enters executive session on employment

During the public‑comment portion of the Revere Board meeting, resident Sandy Palmer asked whether rumors about the athletic director’s retirement were accurate and whether the district had begun a search for a replacement. "I'm Sandy Palmer. I have 2 middle schoolers... I kinda heard different things about him retiring, him not retiring," Palmer said.
Board administrators responded that they had not received any official notice from Mr. Seacker about his plans. "We have not received any official word from Mister Seacker at this time," an administrator said, and the board noted that the athletic director’s contract is scheduled to end July 31; if a replacement were needed, a start date for a new director would be August 1. The board said it would ensure coverage if a gap arose: "We will make sure we have somebody to take that," an administrator said.
Later in the meeting, the board voted by roll call to enter executive session "to discuss the employment of a public employee." The motion was seconded, roll call votes were recorded as 'yes,' and the board entered executive session; the chair said the board did not anticipate any action to follow the closed meeting.
The board did not confirm in public that the executive session specifically concerned the athletic director. The conversation in open session consisted of community questioning, administrative clarifications about the contract date and a pledge to ensure operational coverage if a transition occurs.
