Swansea trustees approved several consent and contract items at the meeting, including bids and resolutions for public-works projects, an equipment-surplus ordinance and routine financial measures.
The board forwarded and then adopted Resolution 1-2701, accepting the low bid of $273,456.45 from Jelly Excavating Construction for a box culvert replacement on Gilbert Street. Trustees also approved Resolution 1-2702, contracting Tubinar Wade and Merkin Incorporated of Swansea for construction observation and staking services for the Gilbert Street project at an estimated cost of $19,700, and passed Resolution 1-2703 (MFT allocation for Ednick/Atlantic Drive).
Trustees also considered and approved Ordinance 19-95, which declared certain fire-department property surplus — specifically a skid unit with a 250-gallon tank and an associated Briggs & Stratton motor and pump — and a 2014 Ford Explorer with recorded mileage. The ordinance was read by title and approved by roll call.
On finance matters, the board approved bills totaling $607,221.38 to be drawn from the proper accounts. The board also approved a travel reimbursement estimate of $2,790 for Village Administrator Ben Slossinger to attend the ICMA annual conference (travel, conference fees, hotel and per-diem). The travel reimbursement passed on roll-call with recorded ayes and a single recorded 'no.'
Each resolution and ordinance was approved by roll-call vote as recorded during the meeting; staff were directed to proceed with contract execution and project scheduling in accordance with the approved contracts and budget allocations.
