The Personnel Committee approved a 2.7% pay increase tied to the Consumer Price Index for FY27. Personnel Committee Chair (speaker 3) said the CPI came out to 2.7% and moved to apply that increase to full-time employees, exempting pool employees and crossing guards; the committee approved the motion. The committee then extended the same 2.7% increase to part-time employees (with the same exemptions), and that motion also passed.
Chair noted last year's CPI was 2.9% and explained the city historically sets annual pay adjustments tied to CPI unless council acts otherwise. The committee also approved a limited training/travel authorization for Jill to attend a downstate spring conference (not to exceed $110).
What happens next: Payroll staff will implement the approved CPI adjustments for affected employees effective the first full pay period in May; exempted groups remain unchanged. The committee recorded the motions and adjourned.
