At its July 7 meeting the Sleepy Hollow Village Board approved warrants totaling $105,070.90 and authorized purchase of 25 U‑channel signposts for $2,216.25.
Finance staff introduced the warrants motion and trustees initially approved it by voice; the president later corrected the procedure and the board re-took the vote by roll call (all ayes). The signpost purchase — replacement metal posts for speed‑limit and regulatory signage priced at $88.65 each — was moved, seconded and approved by roll call.
The board also considered a proposal to hire a third‑party collections company to pursue delinquent amounts stemming from local adjudications of minor ordinance violations. The police chief explained the vendor would be used primarily against nonresidents and that the service would not impose direct costs on the village (fees are assessed to delinquent accounts). Trustees asked for wording clarifications in the proposed ordinance and agreement; Trustee D'Atley moved and Trustee Thomas seconded a motion to table the proposal until the July 21 meeting so the attorney and chief could incorporate revisions. The motion to table passed by voice vote.
No amendments were adopted at the meeting. The board corrected procedural errors by conducting roll-call votes on expenditure items and recorded unanimous approval of the warrant payment and the signpost purchase.
