The Annapolis Finance Standing Committee approved its draft budget schedule April 1 with two changes: it added a transportation department presentation at 11:20 a.m. on Monday, May 4, and it scheduled a joint session with the Financial Advisory Commission and Davenport for 5 p.m. on April 30 to discuss debt affordability.
Committee members flagged that transportation had been omitted from the draft. A committee member suggested adding transportation "to the end of either Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday of the first week," and the panel settled on the May 4 Monday slot; Alderman O'Neil moved to approve the schedule with amendments and Alderman Thorpe seconded. The chair called the motion and the committee approved it by voice vote.
Members also discussed timing and content for the Davenport session, noting that Davenport would present debt-affordability material and that the committee might follow that with capital-improvement program discussion so Davenport need not stay for the full remainder of the session.
The committee asked staff to ensure departments submit presentation materials at least 72 hours before scheduled appearances and to circulate a slide template for review.
