Ron Redden, assistant superintendent of compliance and data quality, presented final drafts of local and targeted improvement plans for multiple campuses that had been identified by the Texas Education Agency for support and improvement. Redden explained TEA identification categories (CSI, TSI, ATSI), the diagnostic process used by campuses, and priority improvement strategies including strengthened professional learning communities, observation and feedback protocols, and targeted student interventions.
Board members asked clarifying questions about the submission to TEA and certification levels for teachers. After discussion, a motion to accept the administrative recommendation was made by Mr. Schulte and seconded by Ms. Cuellar; the board voted 'aye' and carried the motion, approving the plans as presented.
Ending: Administration will proceed with implementation of the approved campus plans and monitor progress as required by TEA identification and district timelines.
