Kenmore outlines waterfront summer camps, a May 30 waterfront fair and rentals at Long Boom Park

The Kenmore Community Rowing Club, Colburn said, runs weekly rowing camps out of the Rhododendron Park Kenmore Public Boathouse for students entering eighth through twelfth grade, from beginner to advanced skill-development weeks. Colburn noted fellowships and accelerated camps are available and encouraged early registration for families seeking financial aid.
Colburn announced a Kenmore Waterfront Activity Center waterfront activities fair on May 30 where paddling organizations will have booths and visitors can try short on-water demos before committing to camps: "On May 30 ... you will also have the opportunity that day to get on the water and try it out." She said organizations frequently allow several trial practices before asking for membership.
Regarding equipment rentals, Colburn said the city—s third boathouse at Long Boom Park operates a seasonal recreational-rental program for kayaks and paddleboards that typically opens around Memorial Day if staffed; online reservations and one-way rentals (returning by bicycle) are available.
Colburn also highlighted returning youth programs: Skate Like a Girl will run skateboarding camps at Jack Crawford Skatepark, and Skyhawks will offer multi-sport and single-sport camps for ages roughly 4 through 16; both programs list scholarship options and weekly schedules on the city recreation page.
Practical notes: picnic shelter rentals are open up to six months in advance; listeners were asked to notify the recreation team about other programs the department should share.
