Teachers association praises staff, flags grant-aid efforts during public comment

Bryan said several district teachers and staff received recognitions from Summit County and from the Ohio Education Association (OEA). He described one counselor's OEA Whisper Grant that provided $500 to help a family after a house fire and a separate GPT grant for $4,000 that will support students in need. "She wrote this grant and was able to receive $500 to help that family to try to reestablish themselves," Bryan said.
Bryan asked the board to create more regular recognition opportunities for staff achievements, saying small public acknowledgements can support morale during a difficult time for educators.
Board response: the board thanked Bryan for the information and noted staff accomplishments; no formal action followed.
