Redmond recreation reports record enrollment and diversified revenue for 2025

Erica Chua, Redmond’s recreation manager, gave a year‑in‑review on March 24, reporting strong participation and revenue growth for 2025.
Chua said total activity revenue exceeded $2,000,000 and total enrollment reached 42,650 participants, a roughly 26% increase from 2024 that continues a multi‑year trend of growth. She noted renter revenue increased by about 120% and highlighted that summer programming included more than 4,000 participants across dozens of camps. "Participation has nearly doubled in three years," Chua said.
Staff also described adjustments to facilities after the Lake Washington School District asked the city to vacate the old Redmond Schoolhouse. Chua said many programs found new homes and some classes will pause briefly for the summer; she asked the public to consult the city website for updated program locations.
Chua highlighted the city’s fee‑assistance program, which she said grew about 57% compared with 2024. The update was informational; no action was requested.
Staff will continue to post registration and program location details on redmond.gov as the spring and summer offerings go live and registration opens March 31.
