Forks council approves minutes, finances and several appointments; delays industrial park insulation award

The City of Forks City Council approved routine business on Jan. 12, including meeting minutes, payroll and claims, and the October 2025 Treasurer's Report.
On motions that carried, the council approved payroll checks #45235–#45253 totaling $149,810.68 and multiple claim and manual checks including manual check #45233 ($1,105.19) and manual check #45234 ($12,066.35). The minutes list claim checks #45254–#45301 and EFTs totaling $108,266.94 and claim checks #45302–#45310 totaling $145,268.79.
The council appointed Council Member Corey Pearson as the City's representative to the Peninsula Regional Transportation Planning Organization with Council Member Vilkesh Patel as alternate. It also appointed Council Member Kaylan Kimball as the City's representative to the Clallam Transit System Board with Council Member Gingell named as alternate; the minutes record the transit appointment as carried and note the motion was made without a second. Jason Huling was appointed to the Planning Commission.
Attorney/Planner Fleck reviewed bids submitted for insulation work at the Forks Industrial Park and noted significant discrepancies between proposals. Council voted to delay selecting a contractor until the next regular meeting to allow members more time to review the bids. Fleck also reported the lease agreement with Riverside Forest Products USA has been signed and that staff have been meeting with county representatives about funding for Industrial Park projects.
