The mayor and staff flagged long-term maintenance and drainage concerns; they said turf would allow greater year-round use but noted outstanding questions about who will carry maintenance costs.
Council members said staff has revised the draft with input from borough negotiators and that the borough will return a proposal to Point Park for comment, likely next month.
The mayor described the proposal as a potential "win-win" — expanded access and improvements for both Point Park and borough athletic programs — but noted the agreement and funding details are not finalized.
