During the administrative update, Mayor Ben Kessler said the city's ask for the North Cassidy (Cass City) site is a $1.5 million earmark for site development. He said the request currently lacks a committed local match and that, if the earmark is successful, the next step would be to work with the schools to identify a 20% match drawn from local and other grant sources.
Council members asked whether the federal funding required a nonfederal match; the mayor said that question will be addressed if the project advances, and that details about the local contribution remain to be determined.
