Summary
The council unanimously approved two contracts with Pyramid Construction: $345,675.60 for South Fairview/Woodland Avenue improvements and $735,003.99 for work on Thunder Ridge, Regal Way and Spacious Skies, including sidewalk ADA upgrades and repaving.
The Woodland Park City Council on March 19 approved two separate public-works contracts with Pyramid Construction for street and sidewalk improvements.
Council approved a $345,675.60 contract for South Fairview Street/Woodland Avenue. Staff described the scope as mill-and-overlay resurfacing, replacement of curb and gutter and sidewalks to meet ADA requirements, and drainage work to address recurrent potholes. The contract followed a competitive bidding process, the city said.
Council also approved a second contract for improvements on Thunder Ridge, Regal Way and Spacious Skies (repaving and removal of pavers), described by staff as removing existing pavers and sand bedding, replacing broken concrete cross pans and curb-and-gutter as needed, and repaving with four inches of asphalt.
Both motions were moved and seconded and passed unanimously. Council earlier also approved the consent-calendar minutes for the March 5 meeting.
Why it matters: The projects address recurring road and pedestrian infrastructure needs, will replace aging materials (including pavers) and upgrade sidewalks for accessibility. The two approved contracts are city-funded capital improvements scheduled to begin after notice to proceed and to be completed under timelines referenced by staff.
What happens next: Staff expected to issue notices to proceed and monitor construction schedules; one contract referenced a completion target in August in staff remarks.
