At its August meeting, the Benton City Council approved three resolutions on the consent and regular agendas.
Resolution 2025-43: Authorizes the mayor to sign an agreement with Plateau CRM for cultural resource/survey services related to the planned splash pad. The motion was moved and seconded and the council approved the authorization.
Resolution 2025-44: Authorizes the mayor to execute an agreement with General Co Code LLC to codify and update municipal code. The contract price discussed was about $23,950 with a payment schedule described as one-third now, one-third mid-project and the remainder on completion. Council approved the resolution.
Resolution 2025-46: Authorizes the mayor to enter into an agreement with JUB Engineering to conduct surveys on 6th Street to verify right-of-way widths and support future work. Staff noted JUB has been used previously as a subconsultant and reported no current issues; council approved the contract.
What’s next: Staff will return with the cultural survey scope implementation, codification timeline (estimated 12–18 months), and the JUB survey schedule. Funding and budget notes: the codification contract will require budgeting for the initial payment; staff said they had not identified a budget line for that payment during the meeting and will address it as part of next steps.
