The Forks City Council on Aug. 25 adopted a new Electronic Funds Transfer Policy and Procedures (Resolution No. 528) proposed by Clerk/Treasurer Caryn Caun DePew.
Council also approved payroll checks numbered 44737 through 44752 totaling $87,064.43 and claim checks 44753 through 44786 plus EFTs totaling $57,040.26. Council set public hearings on the Decker annexation and on the Capital Improvement Plan 2026–2031 for Sept. 22, 2025.
Attorney/Planner Fleck explained proposed revisions to Exhibit D of a lease with Riverside Forest Products USA for Industrial Park properties; Council authorized the Mayor and staff to adopt the indicated changes or equivalent wording.
Actions recorded in the meeting were procedural and routine: approval of minutes from the Aug. 11 meeting, adoption of Resolution No. 528 addressing EFT procedures, scheduling of two public hearings, payroll and claims approvals, and authorization for staff to finalize lease language. Motions were made and seconded as recorded in the minutes and each was recorded as "motion carried." The minutes do not list specific roll-call tallies for those routine approvals.
The Council did not adopt the Capital Improvement Plan itself on Aug. 25; it set the public hearing for Sept. 22. The lease authorization allows staff and the Mayor to finalize language in Exhibit D; final lease execution would follow administrative procedures.
