Anthony Morelli, chair of the Saratoga County Capital Resource Corporation, addressed the board during public comment March 18 to express the CRC’s support for the Code Blue shelter project.
Morelli said the proposed agreement would involve the county leasing property to the CRC for 40 years; the CRC would then sublease the property to Shelters of Saratoga for operation and maintenance. Morelli described the CRC’s role as supporting not-for-profit development through tax-exempt and low-interest financing tools and said the arrangement aligns with the CRC’s mission to help vulnerable members of the community.
He identified Matt Veach as the CRC’s chief executive officer and noted that supervisors Ostrander and Murray serve on the CRC board. Morelli asked the board to consider the CRC’s participation as a partnership that supports shelter operations and financing.
The chair thanked Morelli and the CRC board for their partnership and engagement on the county’s shelter initiative.
