The fire chief reported that the EMS amendment was returned and approved by Aberdeen’s council, and that city staff are collaborating with MRSC (Municipal Research and Services Center) to refine the fund resolution and answer follow-up questions. The chief said they had hoped to present the fund draft at the Sept. 18 meeting but additional legwork and MRSC consultation remain.
The city attorney said related work has been "pretty stable and quiet" and did not offer further detail. Council members did not take a formal vote on the EMS fund at the meeting but indicated staff will continue negotiations and legal review before bringing a resolution forward.
