The mayor told the council the Mill Creek Dam inspection is due within the next week and that the city will work with engineer Craig Jordan to train public-works staff on dam operation and maintenance. The mayor added the city will complete required self-inspection work and submit documentation, likely in December.
Public-works staff Jennifer reported that crews have removed five beaver dams (one remains to be finished), repaired trees and paths at Mill Creek Park, and are conducting storm-drain maintenance to reduce flood risk. Jennifer said the city had two recent water leaks that were repaired and that staff are prioritizing drain cleanouts ahead of the rainy season.
Council members asked about hydrant-flushing and local drainage at specific intersections; public works said hydrant flushing occurs once a year. Councilman Spargo encouraged residents to help clear leaves and debris from drains and offered to assist citizens who cannot do the work themselves.
