Staff warned of potentially long lead times for major equipment (some items could arrive in October or November) and said they have not decided whether to perform all work in a single summer or split it across two summers.
For the broader facilities project, staff said general renovation bids will be posted and that hazmat/asbestos inspections (required by state construction rules) are scheduled with an estimated cost of about $35,000. The generator lead time is approximately 20 weeks with installation planned for 2027. For field projects, the committee has received ZBA approvals for variances on bleachers, press box and lighting, but conservation approvals and geotechnical borings must be completed before final field bids.
Staff asked the committee to expect revised cost estimates and to prioritize front‑field work given currently higher‑than‑expected estimates.
