Parks and recreation master plan nears finish; parks commission to review draft April 6

Staff noted the primary aim is to secure Recreation and Conservation Office (RCO) certification, which is the main state funding source for park grants. The final plan will be adopted by reference into the comprehensive plan to keep the overall comp plan from becoming unwieldy and to ensure consistency between the two documents. The full plan is expected to be lengthy (staff said approximately 200 pages) and the executive summary is included in the meeting packet; staff said the detailed draft will be available to the parks and arts commission for page-by-page review before the public presentation.
