The Jurupa Valley City Council unanimously adopted the Citywide Corridors Plan, a policy and design toolkit that includes 20% schematic plans and cost estimates for town‑center street segments, a corridor tree palette and gateway/wayfinding options.
Consultants told the council the plan is implementation‑focused: it provides typical cross‑sections for three corridor types (town‑center, cross‑town and neighborhood), design guidance for frontages and trees, and 20% level cost estimates intended to support grant applications and CIP prioritization. The plan's appendix includes town‑center sketches and order‑of‑magnitude cost estimates to help staff scope future capital projects.
Staff also presented an addendum to the 2017 general plan EIR, explaining that adopting the corridors plan would not create new significant environmental impacts beyond those already studied. With no public speakers on the item, the council closed the hearing and approved the plan by unanimous vote.
City staff said the corridors plan will be used to guide the mobility element update, to set expectations for frontage improvements in town centers, and to support near‑term CIP and grant applications.
