The North San Diego County Genealogical Society updated the Carlsbad Library Board on recent activity and upcoming events during the Oct. 23 meeting.
The society representative apologized for recent absences due to family medical issues, then summarized programming: a July 27 beginning-and-refresher course at the Cole Library Community Center drew 56 attendees and was rated good to excellent. The society planned a virtual fall seminar on DNA for Oct. 26 (30 people had signed up as of Oct. 8, with a sign-up deadline of Oct. 19). Hybrid user groups and monthly meetings continued, with attendance figures reported for August and September for several groups (examples include 32 attendees in August and September for a multi‑session on-site course and double-digit attendance for virtual monthly meetings).
The society said it will schedule a members trip to the Salt Lake City Family History Center March 16–23, 2025; the library will offer preparation classes in January and participants will arrange their own travel with a discounted hotel option available.
The representative concluded with a reminder of hybrid meeting options and encouraged public participation in upcoming sessions.
