The Chino Hills City Council took time on July 9 to recognize staff and community programs. The council presented a city tile and letters from federal and state representatives to Vivian Chow, a senior management analyst in the cityengineering division, honoring her 18 years of service and thanking her for work on the capital improvement program and grants.
Chief Williams and his deputy chief introduced new firefighter-paramedics joining the Chino Valley Fire District. The chief noted recruits will serve a one-year probationary period with mentoring and staged performance reviews before receiving full status. Individual recruits were introduced by name and hometown.
Council also proclaimed July as Parks Make Life Better Month and highlighted the cityparks system (staff cited 44 parks, about 3,000 acres of open space and over 48 miles of trails) and announced summer recreation programming. Emergency Services Coordinator Joyce Lee presented a proclamation for National Night Out on Aug. 6 and described registration steps for neighborhood hosts.
Mayor Cynthia Moran and councilmembers thanked staff and community volunteers for their service and encouraged residents to attend parks and recreation events this summer.
