He proposed a three-person scoring committee to review submissions: the economic-development director, a member of the board of supervisors and a third local industry stakeholder (for example, a utility or finance representative). "I don't want to do anything under the table here," the director said, arguing for an open, rubric-based selection process.
Supervisors discussed appointing a board liaison to the scoring committee and agreed a local stakeholder should be included. The board voted to approve the RFP/RFQ authority and to proceed with outreach to local realtors and potential scoring-panel members; the board will make the final selection when proposals are returned.
