El Cajon council unanimously approves 132-unit Lennar townhome development on East Main Street

The El Cajon City Council voted unanimously to approve a 132-unit townhome development proposed by Lennar Homes at 1050–1058 East Main Street, adopting a CEQA determination and approving the site development plan permit and tentative subdivision map subject to standard conditions.

Mike Filione, senior planner with the Community Development Department, told the council the project would develop roughly 6.4 acres between North Mollison Avenue and North 1st Street, and proposed 23 buildings in two formats (carriage and rear‑loaded townhomes). Filione described the site as identified in the city's housing-element inventory and said staff found the proposal consistent with the general plan.
