Board members offered brief remarks of thanks to Visit Carlsbad staff before the motion. After the vote the chair stated, "We are hereby abolished," referring to the advisory board's role, and the staff member said the next step was to take the recommendation to City Council for final action. General counsel offered no comments, and the chair closed the meeting.
The board's action at this meeting is a recommendation to the City Council; final authority to disestablish the district and repeal the municipal code rests with the council.
