Mayville public works staff told the council that three bids were opened for the 2026 Oak Street mill-and-pave capital improvement project and that all bids came in under budget. Staff recommended awarding the contract to Northeast Asphalt, which has previously worked in Mayville without issues.
"We received 3 bids for that work ... They did come in under budget," the public works presenter said, then recommended awarding the contract to Northeast Asphalt. Councilmember Smith moved to award the contract; the motion was seconded and approved by roll call.
Council members confirmed there were no prior performance concerns with the recommended bidder and accepted the staff recommendation. Work will include milling existing asphalt and repaving the project segment as outlined in the packet. Funding for the project was included in the 2026 CIP; staff said the bids came in under that allocation.
